No Class

The worst thing about being an American citizen is the fact that the majority has no class. I am not talking about money and material possessions, but the way that people conduct themselves in public, and the wealthy are just as guilty as the bums in the street. I would have to say the rich are worse, because they should know better and remain willfully ignorant. Of course, I like to think I have class, despite my dire condition, so I think it's up to me to ponder some solutions to this American condition, which has plagued this country from its founding to the present day, with no signs of it ever getting better. As a philosopher, it is a problem that is always being worked on in my subconscious, in the hope that one day an epiphany shall burst out, that all citizens shall hear and respond to because I am certain the solution would be simple, yet elegant. The first thing people should do is to recognize each of their fellow citizens as their equal, for indeed that is what we all are. If say, a well-off ant is walking down the street, and some scuzzy little grasshopper gives a friendly greeting, that ant has no class if the ant refuses to respond in kind. Just because someone has it made is no reason to look down upon someone who is struggling. That lack of class is inexcusable, and can only lead to trouble if it continues. When it happens to me, anger erupts within me, and my impulse is to follow the classless fools down the street and harangue them. Luckily, I have enough class to jut shake my head and forgive them, and leave it up to God to make them pay, whether it's being reborn as a cow or a place in one of Hell's worst neighborhoods. Another thing is for everyone to care enough to dispose of their trash properly. For example, some people are so lacking in class that they will put unfinished food in a recycling bin. It is no class, pure and simple, because I refuse to think that someone could be so stupid to believe that their unfinished sandwich or apple core will somehow become a new sandwich or a whole apple. One would think that our leaders could train people to do better, but when it comes to having no class, our leaders are a prime example of having no class. They keep spouting off about carbon emissions and climate change, then go jetting off to Glasgow, Scotland for a conference that by its very nature is going to be unproductive. The only point of it was to feed their insatiable egos, and to con us saps into thinking how much they care about the future of the Earth. This sap was not fooled. Despite the opulence of their lodgings, this was a classless move by all concerned. Only Yi Jingping of China and Vladimir Putin of Russia showed any class in this situation by refusing to have anything to do with the farce. Of course, they were vilified by the American press for being sensible, but then American media is another example of an institution that has no class. Not that it ever did, but at least in the past the press was willing to go after everyone, whereas it now seems to be a propoganda organ for the Democratic Party. So we can see that the lack of class does not bode well for the future of America. It leads to waste and incompetence, and ironicly, it makes people care more about looking good than doing good. I prefer to look bad and do good, but the people who run the show would rather look good while being bad. If they only had some class, they would know better. As for solutions, I will have to ponder this situation further.
