Cooking The Golden Goose

The liberals who tinker with the American economy in search of an unattainable perfection should be reminded of Lao Tzu's adage that 'he who does nothing does best'. Some regulation might be called for, but the incessant meddling with the dictates of the market and the call for more taxation is a fool's game, that will only lead to less prosperity, not the elusive equity that is the chimera that liberals wish to catch. Someone should teach them about the art of persuasion, which means less moralizing combined with clumsy coercion. People react better when not hectored by humorless psedointellectuals or sanctimonious hypocrites: these two groups have too much influence, and they both are the biggest threat to the American way of life today. Cooking the Golden Goose will feed some, only to see the hunger return at a greater level, with nothing to satiate it.
